I have never been impressed by all this clean colon crap, but a friend of mine mentioned she did it and she lost about 5 pounds. I am now interested in knowing if anyone has any reviews or suggestions on any colon cleanse systems. Anyone tried one and had good results?

“Colon cleanse” is neither healthy nor safe. All you are doing is stripping your colon of its normal bacterial population, which is why you appear to lose weight. However, over a week or two, the bacteria will return, and the weight loss will disappear. Furthermore, the loss of those normal bacteria may lead to digestive problems, and lastly, the absence of normal bacteria may allow bad bacteria to grow in their place, causing you to get very sick.

The weight loss from a colon cleanse is transitory and the health benefits are illusory.
Try prune juice. It’s healthy, effective, non-toxic, tastes good, and no shyster makes money off your naiveté.

The one that works the best for me is this stuff called bowtrol colon cleanse. Although to be honest I haven’t used any other products so I can’t really compare them to others. I can only tell you about my experience using this one.
I’ve been using it about 3 times a year (once a quarter) and it really helps clean up my system. I think of it like a neti pot for my system (btw – if you suffer from allergies I also HIGHLY recommend using neti pot).
From what I’ve learned and experienced, doing the colon cleansing helps get rid of the toxins that build up in your body. It’s kinda like hitting the reset button on your digestive system.
The colon cleansings really helps puts a spring back in my step.
